Bob Bloom

Bob Bloom began his career in the flavor business in the mid-70’s, joining his father in a small privately owned flavor creation and manufacturing company established by Bob’s grandfather in 1924. As the flavor industry became more capital-intensive, Bob sold the family business in the mid-80’s. That company was acquired by Hans-Peter Wild in the mid-90’s and WILD Flavors was acquired by ADM in 2014. Bob retired from ADM after his long and successful career on the commercial side of the flavor business at the end of 2020.

For the last 25 years of his career, Bob worked with entrepreneurs in a combined product development and business development role. One of the companies that Bob helped start and grow was acquired last year, in its 20th year, for $3.8 billion. In that time, Bob acquired much knowledge and experience about starting a food and beverage business successfully. He feels there is still much more to learn, due to a large extent by the ever-changing retailing environment.

In retirement, Bob’s goal is to continue to help entrepreneurs successfully establish their businesses. He has a thorough understanding of the role of supplier companies in product innovation.
